Sports Arenas

Hy-Vee Arena, formerly known as Kemper Arena, is a renowned multi-purpose indoor arena located in the West Bottoms neighborhood of Kansas City, Missouri. The arena has a rich history and has hosted numerous significant sporting events, concerts, and other entertainment activities since it first opened its doors in 1974.

In a noteworthy renovation led by Foutch Brothers LLC that concluded in 2018, Kemper Arena was transformed into Hy-Vee Arena, a modern, multi-level sports complex. This pioneering project marked one of the most substantial adaptive reuses of a former single-purpose stadium in the United States.

Today, Hy-Vee Arena features two levels of sports courts, a state-of-the-art fitness center, business spaces, and various dining options. The arena is designed to support a diverse range of sports, including basketball, volleyball, and pickleball, among others. It also hosts trade shows, conventions, and community events, proving its versatile nature and its value as a hub of activity in Kansas City.
